To remain competitive in the global metalcasting industry, North American foundries must adopt engineering solutions and practices that enhance casting quality, optimize production efficiency, and support a streamlined industrial supply chain.
The AFS Engineering & Smart Manufacturing Division advances those goals through panels, papers, plant tours, plant reviews, technology demonstrations, research, knowledge transfer and professional networking. Areas of focus include planning systems; automation and robotics; data capture, exchange and security; energy efficiency; and other plant-engineering topics that arise. Committees or task groups may be launched to address areas of concentrated focus.
